Delaware River and Bay Authority say they want to help the economy in Cape May County and they are one of the biggest abusers of it in the county. They could hire people full time at the ferry, but instead, they limit the hours and hire lots of full/part-time people year-round, at low wages, so that they do not have to pay benefits. Who pays the bill? We do! When the employees go on unemployment and the "authority" finds others to take their place, the taxpayers are hit with the unemployment fees and the employee does not get the benefit of having a full-time job.
