Why do so many towns allow the private sports clubs to use their facilities for free or for a nominal fee? Most of these clubs are exclusive and only allow the most talented boys/girls to participate. The local recreation and town sponsored leagues are made up of children of all ability levels and the club teams ruin it by cherry picking the best players. They can't have it both ways. If they want to be exclusive, then have them pay the real costs to use facilities, when and if they are available, and not ask the local taxpayers to shoulder the burden.
