Consolidation, shared services, countywide and privatization are all politicians words. These are great for gaining attention and votes, but when you look at the attempts so far, I believe that they are far less of a financial benefit to taxpayers than stated. Notice no politician says the savings are guaranteed. Would they be willing to resign if the savings were not as stated, to get their bill(s) passed? Keep your eyes on what happens in Atlantic County; if the losses by the casino tax appeals have to be paid by all of the municipalities within the county.
