So glad I am not a kid anymore. My 8-year-old starts the day with 90 minutes of straight reading, every day! Then there are two weeks of state mandated testing. Everything is pressure; pressure that you need to do great on the state tests. Then there is very little time for open discussion, music,art or physical education, and forget recess, it hardly exists anymore.
