Our national debt is now more than $17.5 trillion. Some revenue comes from foreign sources like customs' duties and foreign taxes, but most of this will be borne by Americans. because taxes are built into the price of goods. American consumer debt is nearly $12 trillion. Combined, the American taxpayer/consumer needs to come up with nearly $30 trillion. Maybe we could hold a bake sale?
