To the SIC spouter saying we no longer need the Second Amendment: Germany, in the mid-1930s to mid-1940s, had a very strong military and police force (Gestapo) that was second to none. That worked out really well for Jews, LGBTs, invalids, mentally ill/challenged, or anyone the Nazis didn't like. The Second Amendment wasn't meant to just defend the country from invaders or for self-defense. Its main purpose is to defend our freedoms from our own government. Issuing executive orders to act as laws, circumventing Congress.
