Stone Harbor belongs to the Cape May County library system and Avalon doesn't. Stone Harbor has an agreement with the county and the county owns the property. You can't just decide to join Avalon. We will be contractually obligated for about seven years, and then if we want out, we have to buy the building and the property. SH has been in the county system and paying library tax for decades. If you have any gripe, it's with the previous councils and mayor who allowed the county to give us a closet for a library for years, while we paid millions in taxes for other new libraries in other towns.
