I just read the latest self-righteous spout from an OVFC firefighter who lambasts as "disgusting" those who do not have direct operational experience to criticize volunteers serving in this fire company. The common theme that is always missing from these spouters is that this issue is about accountability to taxpayers, public safety standards, public perception, and professional conduct - all of which are in question by the "disgusting" citizens you claim to represent. Volunteerism is a great thing, but it is not an open invitation to abuse the taxpayers who fund your operation.
