I have no doubt that Pete Hegseth is a patriot who cares greatly about America. However, Defense secretary is a huge position and most of us can’t really fathom the responsibility. Look at General Mattis resume, Trump’s former defense secretary and you’ll see Hegseth’s resume is not even in the same universe. Trump has every right to pick who he wants but you should have to earn the position too through demonstrated ability and experience.
