Even though I am retired, I still take offense when Spouters disparage teachers. I am quite certain that most of them do not realize that teachers are paid on a 10 month basis so most of them work summer jobs to augment their incomes. Teachers pay into unemployment, but cannot collect unemployment benefits because of their salary structure. Lastly, I guess the free perks ate the paperwork they take home every day, or the hours they spend helping kids after the school day has ended. Thank teachers; don’t vilify them
