A bridge across the Delaware Bay, from Cape May to Lewes, has been proposed many times. Aside from being a big convenience for the quarter of a million vehicles who use the ferry each year, it would benefit the many motorists who drive to the Del. Mem. Bridge to get to Lewes because of inconvenient ferry schedules. It would be an additional evacuation route. Wouldn't the money for a new ferry be better spent on that bridge? Wouldn't building a bridge provide jobs and generate revenue?
