Trump's proposal to not tax workers' tips sounds good out of his mouth, but it will likely not be as beneficial for waiters and waitresses and others as he thinks it will be. That's because people - some, anyway - will simply reduce the amount of their tips, leaving workers in the same place as they were before. A better approach is to lower taxes for lower-income and middle-income workers and seniors, and raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires and billionaire corporations, all of whom can certainly afford to pay more without putting them in the poor house.
