“Fiscally conservative approach to budgeting” says our mayor. When last year we had a $7 million dollar surplus used for our 2023 budget and this year we used $3.3 million which leaves us $3.3million surplus. How in 3 years have we used $10 million in surplus and we still have an 11% increase in our taxes? fiscally conservative? How about spending recklessly instead? And as for the “finances remaining strong overall” and “we’re still in great condition and saving for a rainy day” per the CFO.Let’s hope it only rains and doesn’t pour! We need spending control .
