"County explains expansion of zoo parking after concerns are raised" was the title of the Herald article. That says it all. It was always only about the zoo! All of those trees were cut down just to create more zoo parking. The county should've just told people to come back another day or later if the lots were full just like any other place does when the lots are full! The county is only committed to tourist revenue, not protecting trees or wildlife.
