I think the county kept their plans to cut down trees in the park secret until it was too late to stop ,because they knew residents would oppose destroying trees for parking and having their tax dollars wasted on it. The park is now just nothing more than a parking lot and the zoo. The problem at the park is too many visitors, not lack of parking. All of those trees were destroyed because the county was unwilling to tell tourists that the park is full.
