To the Spouter from Avalon re: America being the "only" country to allow asylum seekers at the border...you couldn't be more wrong. There are 149 countries who are signatories of the 1951 UN Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and it's adjoining 1967 protocol. Part of that legislation is requiring all signatories to accept asylum claims.
