Congressman Van Drew has rightfully stated in his response to statements made by Gov. Murphy that hundreds of miles of the sea floor will be dredged. He states that the marine environment and marine life has and will be impacted. My statement is Beach replenishment dredging is causing the same harm to marine life and the environment. Harvesting the sand strips the bottom, removing life. Let’s get it right! Changing the beach profile needs to be corrected to prevent Surf Zone injuries.
