As an indenpendent it is mazing to me that Democrats are accusing Republicans of defending Putin than snap into line to defend China. I remember when the virus first came out Democrats were moaning about "anti-Chinese rhetoric". Republicans were never concerned about "anti-Russian rhetoric" or backlash in Russian communities in the US Let's be clear the US has problems with the Russian and the Chinese governments, not the people of either country.
