Here’s a primer for you: Election interference – Something that is illegal, and you would never say out loud, for fear of it being used against you as evidence, something like "I'll pay you to vote my way". Whereas election tactics are perfectly legal strategies designed to get the result you desire, like asking people to switch parties temporarily, "sans money", as allowed by law, to influence an outcome.
