Sports Illustrated, a gold standard in sports journalism for over 70 years, is laying off a “significant” % of staff, and notices have been sent. People love sports, why would this happen? Because it seems people only want sports, not sports with a liberal bent, and a side of political spin. Sports are the last refuge of those who want to concentrate on sports, not someone who doesn’t understand the game they’re covering well, trying to jam a square political perspective into a round hole at the same time, all while obviously failing miserably.
