Coaches for public schools should be required to take 4 years off as coach as soon as their own children enter any high school sports program. Blatant nepotism hurts "unconnected" students. If coaches' children are skilled and talented, they will naturally rise to the top. Teenagers should not feel the unfairness of the world in high school. Schools should protect them. Some kids have spent thousands of $ improving their game, only to compete with a coach's child for playing time in a competition they cannot win through no fault of their own.
