I was watching the return of the stranded astronauts today (March 18) and have been reflecting on the space program for the past 50 years. It occurred to me that my life hasn’t changed one bit as a result of the space program. Early on, the space program was going to create wonder drugs to end disease. It was going to provide an invincible defense that would protect the US. Well, we have more diseases than ever and are totally vulnerable to a nuclear attack. Seems to me that if all of the money was spent here on earth, humanity would be in a much better condition.
