Of course laying off people to reduce government and waste is necessary. In a world of technology you don't just cut waste in contracts you replace people with technology. The private sector has been doing this for 30 years. The government just keep adding people so its bloated. The total being furloughed only brings us back to the 2019 levels. Cut the bureaucracy and get lean.
