Used to be majority grass lawns on the island. The stone yards are a relatively new feature within the past few decades due to limited upkeep. I personally think grass lawns look nicer, and there are ways to maintain lawns naturally without chemicals. I understand why some people elect for stones, but it's nice to see lawns making a comeback. Reminds me of carefree childhood days playing on the beach and spending nights in the backyard under the stars and cedar trees! Those cozy summer nights are right around the corner!
