To the spouter who says MTHS students are discouraged from doing sports: I could argue it’s the parents who must do better. Kids doing multiple sports is kind of the problem. Kids are stretched too thin playing two sports in one season, and one team ends up on the back burner. If parents pay for AAU or competitive dance/cheer, etc., the school sport that is free (to them) is often neglected. Because sports at MTHS are no-cut programs, the only way to prevent this is to ask kids to really think before joining. That’s not discouragement, it’s teaching mindfulness and respect of others’ time.
