More than a decades worth of California's carbon reduction through green initiatives have now been offset by their poor water management (removing dams and eliminating reservoirs) and non-existant forest management. There has been an extreme amount of carbon released into the atmosphere by these wildfires on top of the loss of life, including wildlife, and loss of housing and infrastructure. Their "let it be" ethos doesn't work. Trump warned them of this in 2019 but democrats laughed at him. Trump was right, they were wrong but will never admit it. What a shame for the environment.
