If a POTUS cannot pardon himself, Donald Trump will probably step down before the end of his term so as to guarantee that he will receive a pardon from Vance. He won’t want to take a chance on Vance losing the 2028 election and not getting a pardon. Once again, Trump’s future lay in the hands of SCOTUS.
