The fires in California are truly tragic and the story is receiving wall to wall coverage by every major network. I certainly wish those who lost everything the ability to recover. At the same time, there are fellow citizens in North Carolina who lost everything also including a much more tragic loss of life. Many families are actually living in tents in freezing weather with little assistance from their government. I hope that all the focus on those in need in California does not cancel out the need of those still suffering in North Carolina.
