People trying to get career wages for entry level jobs forces companies towards automation and the elimination of those jobs. No sick days, no smoke breaks, no costly benefits and perhaps most importantly no complaints. Nothing like fighting for more money and the result is losing the job. It’s only going to get worse from here for lower skilled workers. Had everybody accepted reasonable increases many unemployed people would still be employed. Once employers tasted the benefits and advantages of automation, there’s no going back.
