On 01/05/1049, President Harry S. Truman, in his State of the Union address, announced his Fair Deal plans for domestic policy reforms including national health insurance, public housing, civil rights legislation and federal aid to education. He advocated an increase in the minimum wage, federal assistance to farmers and an extension of Social Security, as well as urging the implementation of anti-discrimination policies in employment. The radical right MAGAs will tell you the Democratic Party has moved too far left, but history shows it is the GOP that has moved so way too far right.
