My friend and I like to walk along the bay on Beach Drive and turn around at the canal in the David Douglass Park. Lately, we've noticed the many Christmas decorations along both side of the road inside the park. We were saddened today, though, when we came across the carcass of a dead screech-owl, totally entangled in garland. Nocturnal hunters, this little girl must have been hunting and accidently flew into somebody's Christmas decorations, probably put there by the same person who released the "Happy Birthday" mylar ballon that I extracted from the gullet of a dead sea-turtle this summer.
