Wildwood - In an online comment to a spout about the stabbings in St. Cloud, I got the impression that someone thinks that police officers are trained how to engage armed subjects while off duty. That is not correct. In recent years, in view of liability considerations, some departments have added a small amount of training involving off-duty incidents. Most departments prefer that officers become "good witnesses" and not engage in off-duty enforcement actions, because of liability. The police are not ninja warriors, no matter what television wants us to believe.
