Wildwood Crest - Ambulances responding at emergency speed must utilize both lights and sirens, or not at all. Anybody who has taken an emergency vehicle operator's course would know this procedure. A spouter recently asked why this is if there are no cars nearby. The reason is that accidents happen when you least expect it. With the same token, all area rescue squads should either respond with lights and sirens or not all. I see BLS responding with lights, and activating sirens last minute only; very dangerous! Don't audibly warn drivers last minute, and be angry when they are confused by your actions.
