Wildwood Crest - According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the Helmet Law Title 39:4-10.1 states clearly, "In New Jersey, anyone under 17 years of age that rides a bicycle or is a passenger on a bicycle ... must wear a safety helmet." Bikers who are not obeying the law should suffer the consequences. Why aren't police enforcing this law? What message does that send to our children? How can we expect parents to enforce this law if the police are not willing to follow through? If it is not a "real" law, maybe someone should let NJDOT know!
