Some things to consider - If the West Wildwood Police Department was paid like the surrounding jurisdictions, it would still cost you the same amount of money, if not more, than you're "supposedly" paying now. Two officers is definitely necessary, to assure sustained coverage and to provide back-up for officer safety. WWPD is not the only small town PD with this "problem." It doesn't matter if the borough paid more than the surrounding towns - good people tend to pursue ever better opportunities, and can be expected to leave to do so.
