West Wildwood - Re: comments reported in the Herald made at the last Borough meeting by a commissioner, to make a statement that we would have to wait for an officer if consolidation is approved is a scare tactic. Most of the time we have one officer on patrol here. Arrests, other than outstanding warrants which result from a traffic stop, are rare. When the officer makes that arrest, he is basically out of service for several hours with paperwork and transport to the county jail. During those hours, we rely on other departments to cover the town for calls and to my knowledge have never waited for a response.
