Villas - Seeing the dog tag of recently returned remains from the Korean War triggered vivid memories of the night that soldier got killed. He was among the first in our 1st Cavalry Division that got hit when the Chinese came into the war, an attack that evaporated our dream of being back in Japan for Christmas that year. So many bodies came in that night, including a friend of mine, along with sad stories of what had happened, so many casualties that many left behind along with the wounded. The regimental chaplain surrendered just so he could help with the wounded, and eventually was made a saint.
