Before allowing this to happen, parents should visit the home and know the people who live there. If there is a heroin addict visiting or living there, their child could be stuck with a hidden, used needle, and contract an infection. Be sure there isn't smoking around the child, especially if they have asthma. What about having a loaded gun in the home? Are parents leaving their child in an unsafe situation? Is there a dog in the home that could bite their child? Parents need to stop leaving children where they wouldn't leave their purse!
