Sea Isle City - Now that Sea Isle Blvd. is elevated, and fenced along the sides with wire, the awful crushing of turtles along the road has thankfully all but ceased. However, now that the road is some four feet higher, a frightful number of dead birds are being hit every day by cars flying along at 50-plus miles per hour in air space formerly reserved for the birds. If the speed limit were lowered the birds might have a better chance, and also, signage to alert drivers that this beautiful marsh area is home to a variety of wildlife, might help to save some of them. Slow down, be alert, and share the planet.
