Ocean City - Trump was quoted back in June, "I understand the responsibility of carrying the mantle. I will never let you down," in relation to what was then called a "crisis of confidence" by the Republican Party establishment regarding his campaign affairs. Now in August, after embarrassing debacle after debacle in the media, Republicans up for House and Senate seats are publicly stating to their constituencies that they are hoping for "split-ticket voting" from voters who reject Trump at the top of the ticket. Seems to me that Trump carries a mantle only for himself and cares only about his own ego.
