North Wildwood - Why stipends for volunteer firefighters in North Wildwood? North Wildwood has a paid fire department. I would agree to the stipends if there was not a paid department, such as Wildwood Crest and offshore communities, but not here where our department is paid. In essence, the town is creating two additional paid fire companies. Do away with the paid department and provide stipends, or do away with the stipends and rely on the paid department.
