North Wildwood - North Wildwood Fire Dept. responds to EMS and fire rescue incidents in the same manner as the majority of fire departments in the USA. Trucks are meant to be used, not idle. A ladder company's duties include forced entry, search, rescue and ventilation and requires at least four fully-trained and qualified firefighters who are able to climb, make entry and perform these duties. There is virtually no staffing left capable of meeting these duties. Trucks do break down. They should be replaced after 20 years. Very few members left to turn out. The on-duty members are the only sure response.
