North Wildwood - I'm hoping that the governing bodies on the island refuse the "Jersey Shore" crew's offer to film here. The poor image of Seaside Heights still haunts that town and the state. Having to explain to visitors that those "stars" were not from N.J., and felt they had the right to create problems, i.e., bar fights, just for ratings just isn't in our best interest. You don't see Disney, Ocean City, Md., or Myrtle Beach courting them.

Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) July 6 issued the following in response to recent reports regarding MTV’s “Jersey Shore” show possibly being filmed in the Wildwoods: "The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority, on behalf of the Island’s three municipal governments, along with the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Wildwood Hotel-Motel Association, the Wildwood Downtown Business Improvement District, and the Boardwalk Special Improvement District are united in their opposition of the filming of MTV’s the Jersey Shore in the Wildwoods."
