Middle Township - The March 1 Herald column regarding the state flag was thought provoking. Comparing it with the Texas flag, which has a unique, iconic, meaningful and recognizable design explains why NJ citizens rarely display it. The NJ flag appears to have been designed by a committee unable to differentiate it from a state seal. It should be recognizable from a distance, attract attention and clearly display a symbol of this state. The NJ flag looks like a smudge on a yellow background. Sadly, it has never occurred to me to fly it.
