Middle Township - Congratulations Chief Leusner for the crime rate dropping 13 percent throughout the township. However, can one explain why the police suspension rate went up over 500 percent? Thirty days were recorded one year and then 161 days the next? That amount of days is almost a half year's salary for a patrol officer. Is this a new cost cutting method for the police department?

Per Middle Township Police Department's 2016 Annual Report, an employee was suspended for 90 days for misconduct; an employee was suspended for 30 days for abuse of sick time; an employee was suspended for 20 days for neglect of duty; an employee was suspended for 15 days for misconduct; an employee was suspended for 6 days for failure to perform duty.
