Del Haven - I was in a grocery store and headed to the produce section to get some veggies. I was appalled, as usual, to see how shoppers turned a maize display into a garbage dump. There were the fussy ones stripping corn and almost measuring the size of the kernels. There they went, stripping away and flinging the many discards back into the box, along with stalk debris. I asked an older woman what she was looking for and she replied, "Straight rows." I'm sorry, but this is beyond reasonable. Are people looking for perfection in an ear of corn because their lives are so bad? What are "they" putting in the water?
