Court House - Washington's birthday was renamed Presidents Day and established as the third Monday in February as a way to combine the celebration of our presidents, including Lincoln, into a three-day holiday weekend. Yet many of the municipalities in Cape May County, like Lower Township and Cape May, close down for both Lincoln's birthday and Presidents Day. One day off is not enough? The governing bodies should reexamine this practice. Why should taxpayers pay for two days off in February?
