Court House - To a spouter from Lower Twp. who criticizes the size and management of schools, several times the state of New Jersey has tried to consolidate districts, the last serious attempt being in 2009. I was part of the research done that would have, for example, consolidated several small Camden County towns' K-8 schools into one. What happened? Parents like their community schools and are rabid about local control, even though their 'control' is more in theory than practice. New Jersey has over 600 school districts, and it appears that will not change. Just because districts consolidate does not mean fewer positions.
