Court House - The chances of being hired by Cape May County significantly increase if you are an elected official or family member of one, or if you are related to a freeholder. A brief review of the county's Annual Salary Resolution reveals family members, and no less than 10 current or recent past officials of municipalities, are being paid from $45,000-$90,000. There are at least a dozen retired police officers in some of the highest paid positions in the county. Most of these positions are not advertised or Civil Service, and appear to be rewards for support.
