Cape May - Pets are not allowed on the Washington Street Mall. There is a sign! If it is a true service animal, the owner is required to have a license and/or tag/vest stating so. Comfort animals are not service animals unless they have these credentials. Much like handicap parking spots, they require either a placard or license plate showing the person is indeed requiring that space. Putting hazard lights on does not qualify. Simply saying the pet is an emotional support animal without proper documentation is not OK. Obey laws, and they should be enforced.
